Medhavi Chhatra Yojana: The scheme aims to encourage students to pursue higher education and promote educational excellence in the state.

What is Medhavi Chhatra Yojana?

Medhavi Chhatra Yojana was launched by ex CM of Madhya Pradesh in order to encourage poor and deserving students of the State for higher education.

Under the Medhavi Chhatra Yojana MP, the state government will bear the entire tuition fee for students who have scored 70% or above in their 12th board exams conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education or who have scored 85% or above conducted by CBSE/ICSE, and whose father’s/guardian’s annual income is less than or equal to Rs 6 lakhs.

These students will be able to pursue higher education in the field of their choice, including professional courses, without having to worry about the financial burden. The state government will also provide hostel accommodation and mess facilities to these students.

For engineering admissions, ranking within 50,000 in JEE MAIN examination is considered for free/subsidized education and admission in government engineering colleges.

Those who have obtained admission to the MBBS/BDS program at a medical/dental college under the central or state government or in a private medical college in Madhya Pradesh through the NEET entrance exam for medical studies. Also, candidates who have gained admission to the MBBS program in institutions run by the Government of India based on exams conducted by themselves.

Those who have obtained admission to National Law Universities and Delhi University for studying law through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) or self-conducted exams is eligible under Medhavi Chhatra Yojana.

Medhavi Chhatra Yojana covers the fees of all graduation programs, integrated post-graduation programs, and dual degree courses (which include both a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree) offered in all universities/institutions under the Government of India.

Upon gaining admission to courses, all programs offered in governmental and grant-in-aid universities/ colleges, as well as all courses in polytechnic institutions (for which admission is based on 12th examination), are available for study.

Medhavi Chhatra Yojana: Registration

To avail the benefits of Medhavi Chhatra Yojana MP, students must first register themselves on the Technical Education Department’s website, https://www.mptechedu.org, or the National Scholarship Portal, www.scholarshipportal.mp.nic.in.

After successfully registering, students will receive a unique user ID and password, which they must use to log in and complete the subsequent steps of the application process.

Medhavi Chhatra Yojana – Application Form

  • They will need to provide necessary information and upload relevant documents, such as their Aadhaar card and bank account details.
  • Once they have submitted their application, they will need to take a printout of the application form (आवेदन पत्र) and attach all supporting documents, such as their academic records and income certificate, and submit them to the designated institution.

Medhavi Chhatra Yojana – Verification

  • For Medhavi Chhatra Yojana, the Institutes need to register themselves on the scholarship portal.
  • After registration, they will receive a unique User Id and Password.
  • The Institutions will have to complete the verification process of the students who wish to avail the scholarship under Medhavi Chhatra Yojana through the portal only.

Medhavi Chhatra Yojana – Eligibility Criterion

During the verification process, the Institutes will verify the criterion mentioned below:

  • The student must be resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The annual income of father/guardian of the student is not more than 6 lacs.
  • The student must have scored 70% or above in his 12th board exams conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education or scored 85% or above conducted by CBSE/ICSE.
  • JEE Mains rank should be up to 50000 only and have taken admission for BE/BTECH Courses.
  • The student should have gained admission in MBBS by clearing NEET Exam.
  • The student should have obtained admission to National Law Universities and Delhi University for studying law through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) or self-conducted exams.
  • Bank account of student.
  • Aadhar details of student.

Medhavi Chhatra Yojana – Sanction

After Verification, Verification officer will approve the application of the student. Once it is sanctioned, the Verification Officer will upload the signed sanction letter on the portal for disbursement.
