The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 17th october,2022 launched PMJAY-MA Yojana Ayushman cards to 50 lakhs beneficiaries of the Gujarat state via Video Conference.

What is MA (Mukhyamantri Amrutam) Yojana?

When PM Shri Narendra Modi was serving as Chief Minister of Gujarat State, he launched Mukhyamantri Amrutam Scheme in 2012 to provide medical financial aid to the poor.

In 2014, MA scheme was further extended to the families with an annual income limit of 4 lakhs per year and other groups as well. Later, it was renamed as ‘Mukhyamantri Amrutam Vatsalya (MAV) Yojana’.

Under ‘Mukhyamantri Amrutam Vatsalya (MAV) Yojana’ Medical Expenses up to 5 lakhs per year were covered.

Based on the success of this scheme ‘Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ was launched in 2018. AB-PMJAY is the largest health insurance scheme in the world.

What PMJAY-MA Ayushman Card?

Gujarat government later merged the MAV yojana with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in 2019 and the scheme was named as PMJAY-MA Yojana and the beneficiaries of MAV yojana were eligible for PMJAY-MA cards.

Ayushman Card is just like an ATM card having a limit of 5 lakhs. And this 5 lakh Rupees benefit is renewed every year. So, if a person lives for 30-40 years, he can get a total benefit of around 1.5-2 crore worth of treatment.

PMJAY-MA Card will help people of Gujarat to avail health benefits anywhere in India.
