A Voluntary Subsidy Scheme was launched by Delhi Government which came in to effect from October 1,2022. Now the residents of Delhi will have to voluntarily opt to get subsidy for their electricity bills.
Delhi Govt launched the Free Electricity Scheme in 2019. In this scheme, if monthly consumption is smaller than or equal to 200 units the consumer will get free electricity and a 50 percent subsidy for up to 400 units.
Earlier Free Electricity scheme was applicable to all residents of Delhi. Now under the Voluntary Subsidy Scheme, one has to apply to get the applicable subsidies.
Same rules are applicable under this new scheme also, the only difference is that one has to apply for the subsidy.
How to apply for New Voluntary Subsidy Scheme (VSS)?
One can apply both online and offline.
1.Online
There are 3 options available for applying in online mode :-
- Give a missed call on 7011311111
- Say ‘Hi’ on whatsapp on 7011311111
- Scan the QR code on the subsidy form attached with your latest BSES bill
After this, an SMS will be received on the registered number. Click on the link given in the SMS.
2. Offline
For applying in offline mode, one has to fill the subsidy form and enclose your latest BSES bill and submit it at your respective BRPL/BYPL division office.
Important Points
- For one CA number only one mobile no can be used.
- To raise request for another CA, use different mobile no.
- VSS is applicable to Domestic consumers, Agricultural consumers, Special subsidy to 1984 Sikh Riot Victims and Lawyers Chambers within the premises of the Court Complexes in National Capital Region of New Delhi.
